New Map Render + My 7 day absence (News..)

It’s the 7th of October and the new map render is here. I’ve made the effort to bring back all the old markers in this revision. I’m also happy to take any new marker submissions for the next map render. If there’s a place you want marked on the map, just post the name and it’s X, Y, Z into the comments of this post.

In other news; I’m leaving my city from the 10th to the 17th of October. During this time I will have zero presence on the server, but I will have someone watching over the service itself to make sure there are no crashes and that uptime is kept 24/7. Unfortunately this also means there will be no significant progression of the Orrostar story, but I also feel that some peace & quiet is needed after last weeks events.

Terth defeated by the Orrostar Mortals! (News)

2013-10-05_18.47.01After a long grueling week of destruction, Terth was finally purged by the mortals of Orrostar. He has now returned to his domain, the continents, where he will contemplate for ages..


The battle began in the New Shady Sands region, where his powerful rift emerged. The city of Iron Hand was lost during this initial stage and then buried under tons of sand. Aftewards, the rift spread over a vast distance, where it finally climbed over the mountains and right on top of Archwind. It was here that the mortals mounted their defensive and offensive maneuvers. Many soldiers held the walls from waves and waves of undead, while others made a desperate dash for Terth’s heart which had formed in the ruins of Trinity Reach.


Terth’s heart was destroyed long before Archwind became beyond saving, meaning it was a crushing defeat for the lord of destruction, Terth, who underestimated the bravery and strength of Orrostar.

2013-10-05_08.30.25RP aside, I would like to thank everyone who showed up to participate in this event. Not only does it prove just how strong our community is, but also proves that Orrostar is a region worth fighting for, and deserves another chance at a peaceful age. We peaked at 40/40 players, which is more than Orrostar’s opening where we reached 38/40. Thanks guys!

Terth’s Final Push (News)

The time is almost here. Terth has Orrostar in his grasp. The city of Trinity Reach, lost, and has become Terth’s domain on Orrostar where he gathers souls to build his army of undead. In just 2 more days, Terth will have gained the souls required to initiate a full assault on Orrostar, and change the continent as we know it..

..Orrostar will become a breeding ground for his army..


Military forces from the city of Archwind are preparing for the coming attack by strengthening the defences of their military stronghold. It is likely to become the rally point for many of the mortals on Orrostar, and they are willing to recruit more troops to help aid in their rescue of Orrostar. The coming fight will not only be huge in scale, but will also determine the life & death of countless innocents and also the fate of Orrostar.

To lose this battle means a long, terrible reign by the god of destruction, Terth. But victory, while slim, may push Terth back out of our realm and restore Orrostar to the eden it once was.

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.


Custom Conquest Texture Pack + Custom Matmos Sound mod (News)

This is just me walking around The Ancient World Minecraft server with a customized Conquest Texture pack and Matmos sound mod. The tweaks to Conquest are things like lighting and a few improvements to the textures. Matmos has new atmosphere sounds & it’s own soundtrack taken from games like the Elder Scrolls.

I want to thank the original Authors for these 2 fabulous additions to Minecraft, and also Monkeyman & Ikillyou from our server for making further improvements to them.

Valley of the Winds Destroyed By Rift! (News)

A huge Rift forced it’s way into our realm today on the continent of Nautilus Taber. Massive damage was caused to the region, including the old settlement called Valley of the Winds which was mostly destroyed

The Rift, made from soulsand, had a total of 3 cores. Many mortals showed up to fight the rift and were able to kill it before it was able to form more cores.

Unlike Netherrack rifts (which turn to sand and collapse on death), soulsand rifts solidify into stone, like capturing that moment in time. Glowstone & other rare materials can usually still be found on these stone structures which were once rifts.

Orrostar Mortals Victorious Over Terths Nautilus Rift! (News)

Today one of Terth’s Rifts unexpectedly emerged in our realm on the continent of Nautilus Taber. NT is one of the 5 continents currently corrupted by the deadly ash from Dagon volcano. It’s clear now that Terth has more power over these region than we once thought. All Mortals are warned to take great caution when visiting the continents.

Among the ruins of the Rift large amounts of netherwart & glowstone was found. It seems these riches are now ripe for the taking & serve as a great reward for those who fought in the battle against the undead.
